விருதுநகரில், பள்ளி மாணவனுக்கு ஆசிரியர் தண்டனை வழங்கியதால், ஆத்திரமடைந்த அவன், ஆசிரியரை கத்தியால் தாக்கி தப்பினான்.விருதுநகர், தனியார் பள்ளியில், 4,000 பேர் படிக்கின்றனர். இப்பள்ளியில்,கம்மாபட்டியை சேர்ந்த ராஜேஷ்,14 (பெயர் மாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது),ஒன்பதாம் வகுப்பு படிக்கிறான். ஒரு வாரமாக ராஜேஷ், பள்ளிக்கு செல்லவில்லை; கணக்கு பாடத்தில், குறைந்த மதிப்பெண்பெற்றான். நேற்று முன்தினம், பள்ளிக்கு வந்த ராஜேஷை, கணித ஆசிரியர் பாண்டியராஜன், வகுப்பறையின் வெளியே நிற்க வைத்தார். நேற்று பிற்பகல், 12:00 மணிக்கு, ஆசிரியர் பாண்டியராஜன், வகுப்பறை போர்டில் எழுதிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்போது ராஜேஷ், ஆசிரியரின் இடுப்புக்கு கீழ் பகுதியில், கத்தியால் குத்தி தப்பி ஓடினான். லேசான காயமடைந்த அவர், அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்றார். சம்பவம் குறித்து, போலீசில் புகார் தரப்படவில்லை.ஆசிரியர் பாண்டியராஜன் கூறுகையில், ""பள்ளிக்கு தொடந்து வராமலும், அன்று தாமதமாக வந்ததாலும், வகுப்புக்கு வெளியில் நிற்க வைத்தேன். நேற்று, வகுப்புக்கு சென்ற போது, அவனாகவே வெளியில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான். நான் எழுதிக்கொண்டிருந்த போது, கத்தியால் குத்தி விட்டு ஓடி விட்டான் என்றார்.முதன்மைக் கல்வி அலுவலர் பகவதி கூறுகையில்,""பள்ளியில் விசாரணை நடத்தப்பட்டு, மாணவரின் பெற்றோருக்கு தகவல் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, என்றார்.இதுகுறித்து மதுரை அரசு மருத்துவமனை மனநலப் பிரிவு பேராசிரியர் வெ.ராமானுஜம் கூறுகையில், வகுப்பறையில் அனைத்து மாணவர்களுமே ஒன்றுபோல் இருப்பதில்லை. சிலர் எளிதில் உணர்ச்சி வசப்படுவர். திட்டினாலோ, அடித்தாலோ உடனடியாக ஏதாவது செய்துவிடுவர். மற்ற மாணவர்கள் முன்னிலையில், ஒரு மாணவனை மட்டும் விமர்சிக்கும் போது, தனது சுயமதிப்பீடு பாதிப்பதாக நினைப்பது உண்டு. வளரும் சூழ்நிலை, பெற்றோர் வளர்ப்பைப் பொறுத்து, இது மாறுபடும். சினிமாவை, இதற்கு காரணமாக சொல்லலாம். ஆசிரியர்கள் இத்தகைய மாணவர்களை தனியாக பிரிக்க முடியும். அவர்களை, பெற்றோருக்கு அடையாளம் காண்பிக்க வேண்டும். உளவியல் ரீதியாக மட்டுமே, இவர்களை சரிசெய்ய முடியும்.

TEACHERS ARE TREATED AS SCAPEGOATS; YOU DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT US…. I’m totally against the corporal punishment, but when we say that there should not be any mode of punishment I think the teacher’s community would be the first to celebrate it.
Nobody is ready to fight for the fundamental rights of the teachers, there are teachers treated as slaves and humiliated just for their survival teachers tolerate and live with shame. 1. UNJUST SALARY, 2. LACK OF TOILET FACILITIES, 3. LACK OF PROPER STAFF ROOM, 4 HEAVY WORK BURDEN…. With all this limitations teachers continue to work just for their survival, but all those who blame the teachers take everything for granted. IS THERE ANY MOVEMENT OR ASSOCIATION FOR THE PRIVATE TEACHRS TO GIVE VOICE AND SUPPORT FOR THEVICTIMS OF THIS BRUTAL SOCIETY WHO EXPLOITS THE TEACHERS IN THE NAME OF RESULT, MARKS AND PERCENTAGE………….

There is so much pressure to 1. Complete the syllabus
2. Teach the portion
3. More number of students in a class (Maximum of 50 students, and approximately a teacher meets 200- 300 students in a day)
4. Class work correction
5. Home work scrutiny and correction
6. Class tests
7. Regular academic exams
8. Extra curricular activities
9. School activities
10. Special classes in the morning and evening
…………WITH ALL THESE BURDENS ( including CCE which has reduced the burden of the children but an excruciating pain for the teachers without any recognition and extra pay) TEACHERS WORK WITH LOW PAID SALARY JUST FOR THE SURVIVAL. TEACHERS ARE TREATED AS SCAPEGOATS; YOU DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT US….
A teacher meets minimum of 200- 300 students in a day, maximum of 50 – 60 students together in a class. What are the responsibilities of a teacher?
1. To teach the lesson
2. Clarify doubts
3. Check the class works
4. Correct the class works and home works
5. Complete the syllabus
6. Produce good results
WHAT IF ………………..
1. What if the students don’t do their home work?
2. What if students don’t complete their class work?
3. What if students don’t study?
4. What if students create trouble inside the class room?
5. What if they are slow learners?

There are so many challenges to be faced by a teacher in a day. The irony is that teachers are not psychologists, counselors, doctors or specialists to encounter all the above challenges. TEACHERS ARE TREATED AS SCAPEGOATS, YOU DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT US….
But the teachers pressurized by the management and the parents to overcome all the challenges. TEACHERS ARE TREATED AS SCAPEGOATS; YOU DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT US….
Demands:
1. All the teachers irrespective of private and government should be paid equally (Just and fair salary) an imperative.
2. Doctors, psychologists and counselors must be employed in all the schools to guide the children
3. When we say that we should abolish the corporal punishment in any form, at the same time we should promote appropriate alternatives.
4. minimum 1:20, Maximum 1:30 ratio should be followed (1 teacher for 20 students)
5. All the teachers should be equipped with subject resources and latest technology which should be made mandatory. For instance; when there is a scheme of laptop for the children why do you ignore the teachers.

Conclusion: Emancipate the teachers from futile and pointless anxieties, exploitation and
