இந்த தேர்வுக்கு 10ம் வகுப்பு தேர்ச்சி என்பது அடிப்படை கல்வித்தகுதியாகும்.
ஆனால், தட்டச்சர் பதவிக்கு பத்தாம் வகுப்பு தேர்ச்சியுடன் அரசு தொழில்நுட்ப தட்டச்சு தேர்வில் தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் இளநிலை, முதுநிலை தேர்ச்சி அவசியமாகும்.
சுருக்கெழுத்து தட்டச்சர் பதவிக்கு பத்தாம் வகுப்பு தேர்ச்சியுடன் அரசு தொழில்நுட்ப தட்டச்சு மற்றும் சுருக்கெழுத்து தேர்வில் தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் இளநிலை அல்லது முதுநிலை தேர்ச்சி அவசியமாகும்.
இந்த தகுதி உடையவர்களுக்கு கூடுதல் வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படும்.
வயது வரம்பு:
வயது வரம்பு 18 முதல் 30 வரை ஆகும்.
கிராம நிர்வாக அலுவலர் பணிக்கு பொதுபிரிவினருக்கு 21 முதல் 30 வரை இருக்க வேண்டும்.
மற்ற வகுப்பினர்களுக்கு 40 வயது அவசியமாகும்.
இளநிலை உதவியாளர் உள்ளிட்ட மற்ற பணிகளில் பொதுபிரிவினருக்கு 18 – 30 வரையும் பிற வகுப்பினர்களுக்கு 35 வயது வரையும் சலுகை கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது.
தவிர மேல்நிலை வகுப்பு, பட்டயப்படிப்பு, பட்டப்படிப்பு ஆகியவற்றில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்களுக்கு வயது வரம்பு இல்லை.
தேர்வு முறை:
இத்தேர்வு எழுத்து தேர்வை மையமாக கொண்டது.
இந்த எழுத்துத்தேர்வில் 200 வினாக்கள் கேட்கப்படும்.
ஒவ்வொரு வினாவுக்கும் 1.5 மதிப்பெண்கள் என 300 மதிப்பெண்களுக்கு தேர்வு நடைபெறும்.
அனைத்து வினாக்களும் Objective Type இருந்து கேட்கப்படும்.
பாடத்திட்டம்:
இதில் 100 வினாக்களில் 75 பொது அறிவு மற்றும் 25 திறனறி வினாக்களும் அடங்கும்.

நடப்பு நிகழ்வுகள் – வரலாறு, அரசியல் அறிவியல், புவியியல், பொருளாதாரம், அறிவியல்.
புவியியல் – புவி மற்றும் பிரபஞ்சம், சூரியக் குடும்பம், பருவகாற்றுகள், வானிலை, நீர் ஆதாரங்கள், மண், கனிம வளங்கள், காடுகள், வன உயிரினங்கள்.
வரலாறு – சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரிகம், குப்தர்கள், டில்லி சுல்தான், முகலாயர்கள், மராத்தியர்கள், விஜய நகரம் மற்றும் பாமினி அரசுகள்.
தென்னிந்திய வரலாறு, கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் பண்பாடு.
